Abstract
Objective: This research aims to examine factors affecting the change of the obesity conditions of people with disabilities
Methods: The study targeted a total of 144,934 Korean adults who have completed the national health check in both years (2011 and 2013). Among them, 7,711 persons were people with disabilities. To examine factors to the change in the obesity conditions of people with disabilities for two years, it used GLM(general linear model).

Results: The result of paired-t-test from 2011 to 2013 showed that the change in the BMI of people without disabilities rose significantly (p<.0001) after two years whereas that of people with disabilities did not. male without disabilities had a significantly higher BMI than female without disabilities (p<.0001). However, BMI of female with disabilities was significantly higher than that of male with disabilities. A study on the factors affecting the change in the obesity conditions of people with disabilities showed that such a change had a significant relation with BMI of initial year(2011yr), age, income level, history of hypertension, history of diabetes, people with mental disorder. Also smoking status and anxiety-depression impacted on the change in the obesity conditions of the disabled female adults and smokers of people with disabilities had a significant relation with sex, duration of smoking, status of drinking.

Conclusions: To enhance the effect of the management on obesity, which is consistently on the rise, and to realize obesity mediation, establishing and implementing a mid- to long-term, government-led health policy that embraces the disabled is urgently required. Therefore, the results of this study will be used as basic data for obesity related policies and program development and management of people with disabilities.
